To carry out such an assessment, data on the structure, composition and design parameters of the product are used. An example of obtaining a design availability assessment and a preliminary calculation of reliability indicators at the stage of a working design using models for assessing the reliability of mechanical components and probabilistic modeling using the Monte Carlo method is given. Combining the results of assessing the reliability of mechanical components and assessing the maintainability by means of modeling the operating system through Markov diagrams, taking into account a variety of modes and states of the product, allows you to obtain a reliable assessment of the design availability and reduce possible risks of non - compliance with the availability requirements at the stage of operation of armored vehicles. To implement the proposed approach a duel - based discrete - event simulation model is developed. The main initial data for the model are the accuracy characteristics and time parameters of the “sight - weapon” system and target parameters. The estimated characteristics of the aiming equipment are the aiming accuracy and aiming time. Aiming equipment type independence and accounting both time factor and accuracy are the main features of proposed model. The simulation model evaluates the performance of the aiming equipment of small arms by means of combat efficiency calculation. The proposed method is based on the mathematical apparatus of the theory of multilevel hierarchical systems and is a four - stage procedure for finding a rational coordinated plan for the use of an orbital constellation of observation spacecraft, which makes it possible to increase the probability of solving the problem of observing a given group of objects. An algorithm based on the Danzig - Wulf algorithm used as an optimization algorithm with the organization of the computational process. This algorithm takes into account the hierarchical structure of the system and the coordinating solution in the subsystems based on the introduction of appropriate coordinating signals. The relationship between the recognition value of typical aerial reconnaissance objects and the value of their linear resolution on the ground has been established and experimentally confirmed. It is shown that the value of the linear resolution on the ground unambiguously characterizes the signs of recognition (decoding) of objects from digital images, regardless of the principle of image formation and external factors acting on it. The values of the linear resolution of digital optoelectronic systems on the ground have been obtained, which ensure the recognition of the type of aviation objects, objects of automobile and armored vehicles with a given probability. Special attention is given to the «ageing» of glasses, the process, that causes significant deterioration of their ballistic characteristics. The influence of this process on their optical properties is also shown. The paper describes the method and the equipment that were used for measuring spectral transmission coefficient of armored glasses. The measurement results of the optical properties of the 3rd class protection glasses are presented below. During the research a relationship between the changing of spectral transmission coefficient and operating time was revealed. The spectral bandwidths that show the most pronounced change of the spectral transmission coefficient were determined and the requirements for radiation sources that can be used in these bandwidths were established.
