The analysis of data on injuries and wounds of the military personnel of internal troops showed that the most frequent types of gunshot wounds were fragmental and bullet wounds of soft tissues of extremities, and the most frequent type of an explosive trauma was the brain injury. Settlement formulas for definition of an indicator of survivability of object and the demanded survivability coefficient for ensuring the military movement at influence of the opponent are given. For increase of survivability of objects a number of actions of active protection and not fire counteraction which have to be closely interconnected is offered. It is noted that technical misinformation can become one of fixed assets of protection of objects. However, when at the set volume of influence of the opponent of action for masking of objects don't yield the demanded results, the importance gets their dispersal (disaggregation). SHOCK WAVE OF EXPLOSION AND PROTECTIVE PROPERTIES OF A HELMET

Keywords:Military helmet, system of the suspender of helmet, shock wave of explosion, diffraction of shock wave, traumatic injury of brain by explosion, simulation model of finite elements | Abstract:Due to the growing magnitude of blast traumatic brain injury (bTBI), significant efforts are being made to develop effective counter-measures, mitigating the blast effect, and enhancing soldiers' protection and survival. There are several hypotheses of bTBI of which the primary blast wave transmission to the brain is the most probable. However, current understanding of the precise cause and mechanism of primary bTBI and the protective role of military helmets is incomplete thus limiting the development of protection and therapeutic measures. Our main contribution was the elucidation of several blast wave brain injury pathways, including wave focusing in ocular cavity regions, ear canals, the nasal cavity as well as shock focusing on the back of the head under the helmet.
